Listening to God's Call

Genesis 12:1 - "The LORD had said to Abram, 'Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you.'"

Did you ever play the game where you have to walk blindfolded while a friend guides you? It can be a little scary, right? But you trust your friend, so you take those steps, not knowing exactly where you're going.

Genesis 12 starts with a kind of similar situation. God told Abram (who will later be known as Abraham) to leave everything he knew - his home, his family, his country, and go to a place God would show him. That's a big step of trust!

Sometimes, God asks us to trust Him, even when we can't see the whole picture. It might be trying out for the soccer team even when you're nervous, or being kind to the new kid in school when no one else is.

Abraham trusted God and went on a great adventure, becoming the father of many nations! God has exciting plans for you too. You don't have to be scared because God promises to be with you every step of the way. Just like He was with Abraham, He is with you, guiding you in His love and grace.
