Genesis 13: Kids
Sharing is Caring
Genesis 13:9 - "The whole land is before you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I'll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I'll go to the left."
Have you ever had to share something you really liked? Maybe it was a toy, a book, or even the last piece of your favorite pizza. It can be tough, right?
In Genesis 13, Abraham and his nephew Lot found themselves in a bit of a sticky situation. They both had so many animals that their herds couldn't live close together anymore. Instead of arguing or fighting about it, Abraham did something really cool. He let Lot choose first!
Even though Abraham was older and God had promised the land to him, he chose peace and generosity over getting his way. He knew that God would take care of him no matter what.
Next time you have to share something, remember Abraham. God values kindness and generosity, and when we choose to share, we're showing God's love to others. God has good things in store for you, just like He did for Abraham, and He'll take care of you, even when you choose to give something up for others. So don't worry, be generous!
