Genesis 33: Kids
Saying Sorry and Making Peace
Genesis 33:4 - "Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, threw his arms around his neck, and kissed him. And they both wept."
Ready for a cool story from Genesis 33? In this chapter, we see Jacob, who is now called Israel, meeting his brother Esau after many years. Remember, Jacob had tricked Esau before, and because of that, he was scared of seeing his brother again.
But guess what? When Esau saw Jacob, he didn't get angry. Instead, he ran to Jacob, gave him a big hug, and they both cried. Wow! That's what we call forgiveness.
Have you ever had a fight with your best friend, brother, or sister? Sometimes, we might say or do things that hurt others. God wants us to say sorry when we do wrong, just like Jacob did with Esau.
Also, God wants us to forgive others who hurt us, just like Esau forgave Jacob. It might not be easy, but it's the right thing to do.
So next time you and your sibling or friend have a disagreement, remember Esau and Jacob. Say sorry, forgive each other, and maybe even share a big hug! You'll feel better, and your relationship will be stronger, just like God wants. Remember, God loves it when we live in peace with everyone. So let's be peacemakers!
