Genesis 36: Kids
God's Big Family Tree
Genesis 36:1 - "This is the account of the family of Esau (also known as Edom)."
Have you ever tried to trace your family tree? It's fun to find out who your great-great-great-grandparents were, isn't it? Genesis 36 is all about a very special family tree—Esau's!
Esau was Jacob's twin brother. Even though they were twins, they were very different, and they didn't always get along (but who does all the time?). However, both Jacob and Esau became fathers of many, many children. Just like the branches of a tree, their families grew in many different directions.
You might wonder why we're talking about a big list of names from a long, long time ago. But here's the thing: every person in that list was part of God's big plan. Just like you and me!
Even when we think our lives are small and ordinary, we are all important to God. He has a plan for every single one of us, just like He had for Esau and his family. Isn't that cool? God, our Heavenly Father, thinks you're super special, and He has big plans for your life! So today, remember that in God's big family tree, you are very important!
