Genesis 38: Kids
Trusting God in Troubled Times
Genesis 38:26 - "Judah recognized them immediately and said, 'She is more righteous than I am because I didn’t arrange for her to marry my son Shelah.' And Judah never slept with Tamar again."
Today, we're zooming into a tricky part of the Bible: Genesis 38. It's about a man named Judah and his daughter-in-law, Tamar. This chapter shows us how sometimes people make mistakes and don’t do what they're supposed to do.
Judah promised Tamar she would marry his son Shelah, but he didn't keep his promise. Tamar was upset, but she trusted in God and found a clever way to remind Judah of his promise. When Judah realized his mistake, he admitted it and praised Tamar for her righteousness.
You see, we all make mistakes sometimes, just like Judah did. Maybe you promised to clean your room, but then you forgot. Or perhaps you said you'd share your candy with your little sister but ate it all yourself. The important thing to remember is that when we mess up, God is always ready to help us do better next time.
So next time you make a mistake, be honest, say sorry, and try to do better, just like Judah did. God loves you no matter what, and He's always there to help you be the best you can be! Isn't that just super cool?
