Genesis 45: Kids
The Power of Forgiveness
Genesis 45:5 - "But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives."
Have you ever had to say sorry to someone? Or even harder, have you ever had to forgive someone who said sorry to you?
In Genesis 45, we see an amazing scene of forgiveness. Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his own brothers, has the chance to be angry at them. But guess what? He's not. Instead, he forgives them, even saying that God used their wrong actions for a good purpose!
This reminds us of how God forgives us too. Even when we make mistakes, He still loves us and can use everything for His good.
So what's the takeaway for us? Well, it's about being like Joseph, and even more like God! When someone hurts you, instead of holding a grudge, try to forgive them. I know, it sounds super tough. But it could be something as simple as when your little brother accidentally breaks your favorite toy and says he's sorry. Instead of staying mad, you could forgive him and remember that toys can be fixed, but a loving relationship is way more valuable!
Just think about it: Joseph could have stayed mad, but because he chose to forgive, his family was saved. So remember, forgiveness isn't just about making others feel better - it's also a way we can show God's love to the world!
