Genesis 47: Kids
Sharing in Tough Times
Genesis 47:12 - "Joseph also provided food for his father, his brothers, and all his father's household, according to the number of their little ones."
Have you ever shared your favorite candy or toy with your friend or sibling? Sometimes it can be hard, right? But you do it anyway because you love them!
In Genesis 47, there was a big famine - that means there was very little food for people to eat. Joseph was in Egypt, and he was in charge of all the food! And guess what? His family, who was living far away in Canaan, ran out of food. But Joseph didn't forget them. He sent for his father, brothers, and all their families to come live in Egypt where he made sure they had enough to eat.
That's like sharing your lunch with a friend who forgot theirs. You might have less for yourself, but you know it's the right thing to do. This is what God wants us to do – to share, to care for each other, and to love each other, especially in hard times.
Remember, every time you share or help someone, you're showing God's love to them, just like Joseph did with his family. And the best part? God sees your kindness and loves you even more for it!
