Genesis 21: Students
The Promise Keeper
Genesis 21:1 (New Living Translation):
"The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised."
Have you ever had to wait for a promise to be fulfilled? Maybe you're waiting for a college acceptance letter, for a broken friendship to mend, or for healing in your family. Waiting can be tough, especially when the stakes are high.
Think about Sarah and Abraham in Genesis 21. They had to wait for 25 long years for God to fulfill His promise of giving them a son. That's a lot longer than waiting for a test result or a response from a friend! Yet, in the fullness of time, God kept His word.
God is a Promise Keeper. He does not forget His promises. He may not work on our timeline, but He is always faithful. So whatever you are waiting for, remember Sarah and Abraham's story. Keep trusting and have faith that God will do exactly what He has promised.
Pause & Pray:
1. Thank God for His faithfulness in keeping His promises.
2. Ask God for patience and faith as you wait for His promises to be fulfilled in your life.
3. Pray for wisdom and understanding to trust His timing, knowing that He always keeps His word.
