Truth and Consequences

Genesis 3:6 (New Living Translation): "The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too."

Ever found yourself doing something you knew was wrong, simply because it looked fun, exciting, or beneficial at the moment? Like copying someone's homework because it was easier than doing it yourself, or lying to avoid trouble? The allure of immediate satisfaction can sometimes blur the line between right and wrong.

This isn't a new struggle. In Genesis 3, Eve faced a similar situation. The fruit looked appealing, and she thought it would give her wisdom. But she knew God had specifically instructed them not to eat from that tree. Yet, she gave in to the temptation, leading to severe consequences not just for her, but also for Adam and all of humanity.

Temptations will always be there, but remember that God gives us the strength to resist. And more importantly, He has given us His Word to guide us in discerning right from wrong.

Pause & Pray:

1. Thank God for His guidance and ask for strength to resist temptations.
2. Ask God for wisdom to discern right from wrong in every situation.
3. Pray for God's forgiveness when you fall into temptation, and for His help to make better choices in the future.
