Genesis 46: Students
Heeding God's Call
Genesis 46:2-3 (New Living Translation) - "During the night God spoke to him in a vision. 'Jacob! Jacob!' he called. 'Here I am,' Jacob replied. 'I am God, the God of your father,' the voice said. 'Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will make your family into a great nation.'"
Picture this: you've just been accepted into a college far from home. It's exciting, but you're also filled with apprehension. It's new, it's different, and it's far from everything you've ever known.
Jacob felt something similar when God told him to move his entire family to Egypt. But God reassured him, promising to make his family into a great nation there. Jacob chose to trust in God's promise and take that leap of faith.
This passage encourages us to not be afraid of new beginnings, even when they seem daunting. When we feel God leading us in a certain direction, we can trust in His guidance, knowing that He will be with us every step of the way.
Pause & Pray:
1. Pray for the courage to follow God's guidance, especially when it leads you into the unfamiliar.
2. Ask for faith in God's promises, even when the future seems uncertain.
3. Pray for God's guidance and presence to be evident in your life, particularly during times of transition.
