Genesis 50: Students
Forgiveness and Healing
Genesis 50:20 (New Living Translation)
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people."
At this stage of your life, chances are you've experienced hurt, possibly even from someone you care about. It's tough, it's painful, and it can leave scars.
In Genesis 50, we find Joseph, who had been sold into slavery by his brothers, rising to a position of influence in Egypt. When famine struck, his brothers, who needed help, didn't recognize him. Joseph could have used his power to get back at them, but he chose forgiveness. He recognized God's hand in his trials, knowing that all that happened was for a greater good.
It's not easy to forgive, especially when the hurt runs deep. But as Joseph shows us, forgiveness can lead to healing and reconciliation. It also opens our eyes to see how God can use even the worst situations for good. No matter the hurt you're carrying, know that forgiveness is a step towards healing, and God can and will use every part of your life for a greater purpose.
Pause & Pray:
1. Ask God to help you forgive those who have hurt you.
2. Thank God for His promise to use everything for good.
3. Pray for the strength to trust God's plan, even in the midst of pain and confusion.
